Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic lift trucks offer height and versatility. These units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck. The crane, or arm, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the individual utilizing it to lift the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard lift trucks could not move the load away from and towards the forklift cab, while a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in both agriculture and construction. It is better for applications where greater lift and control is needed.
In cases requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It comes with a backrest that protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift would normally use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is designed to hoist personnel is referred to as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
