Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they transport cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which could function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machinery during cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
