How to Charge a Scissor Lift
A lot of people appreciate the ease of using a scissor lift. The convenience of working and the safety offered from the lift's basket provide a lot more piece of mind than attempting to perform a similar job working off the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machinery make it the right alternative for carrying tasks from heights.

The majority of scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted inside the base of the lift. These batteries need to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is an easy job to charge the batteries. This can be carried out without any particular equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.

The machinery needs to be parked next to an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area must also be in a well-ventilated place. After that, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button located in the lift basket, near the charger or the control box. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Normally, older units will have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.

After that, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in an area that is well ventilated and after that plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger could likely happen.
