The Carriage
Like standard lift trucks, the lifting attachment is able t be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual possible amount of tilt completely exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There is a huge variety of lifting attachments available, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Several models have rotating carriages as well. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Knowing the load capacity of a telehandler is a much different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the model is entirely dependent on such things as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays an important role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics could be changing regularly and this gives the operator a lot more information to consider.
Normally, telehandlers have several load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the unit in particular, the load capacity can differ by thousands of pounds all together.
